During the summer months, you might like to accessorize with your favorite jewelry. However, you could be concerned about damaging your jewelry this summer. Luckily, if you follow these three tips, you can help avoid this.
1. Avoid Wearing Jewelry to the Beach or Pool
First of all, even though you might like wearing your jewelry with your swim suit or your pool or beach outfit, doing so can cause the risk of damage to your jewelry. You have to worry about potentially losing your jewelry in the water, for example. Plus, costume jewelry can become discolored after being exposed to saltwater or water with chlorine. It's generally best to leave your jewelry at home before you head to the pool or beach so that you can avoid any problems. If you do want to accessorize when heading to the beach or pool, consider wearing costume jewelry that you don't care much about; then, if it becomes lost or damaged while you're in the water, you probably won't mind as much. Taking it off and leaving it in a safe place when you get in the water can also help you keep it safe.
2. Clean it Regularly
During the summer months, it is a good idea to protect your skin with sunscreen even when you aren't heading to the beach or pool. Just make sure that you are careful, since sunscreen can cause your jewelry to become dull or tarnished. Being careful to avoid your jewelry when applying sunscreen can help. It's also a good idea to clean your jewelry with a good jewelry cleaner on a regular basis during the summer so that you can get rid of any residue from the sunscreen lotion.
3. Keep it Safe When You Travel
While traveling this summer, you may want to pick up a few costume pieces and keep your favorite pieces at home so that you can avoid losing them and prevent them from being stolen. Otherwise, be careful to store them in the safe in your hotel room when you aren't wearing them, and store and transport them so that they will not become lost, tangled or damaged.
As you can see, there are a few tips that you can follow if you would like to keep your jewelry in good condition this summer. If you follow these tips, then you can help ensure that you do not have any problems with your favorite pieces this summer season. Contact a jewelry store for more help.Share
